With automation, by means of robots, also of the plant Electric arc galvanizing, Valmont strengthens its leadership as the leading manufacturer of wind turbines and towers in Europe.

The automation of the entire process, from sandblasting, to zinc metallization and painting, allowed Valmont to reduce:

  1. of 39% carbon dioxide emissions;
  2. the metallization times, with savings of 50% of Zinco and minor consumption in kW/h;
  3. of 40% the roughness of the zinc coating, thanks to a more homogeneous spray;
  4. less formation of zinc dust, with their total reuse.

The uniformity and homogeneity of the zinc coating allowed, in addition to, saving of epoxy paints (2 hands from 80-120 micron).

Once again, the binomial Zinc and epoxy paints (Duplex effect) guarantees a duration of the life cycle of an artifact greater than 50-60 years, without intermediate maintenance interventions.
